    Light-Up Madison & Santa Schedule

Christmas preparations have officially begun in the City of Madison! In lieu of having a City Christmas Tree this year, the Broadway Fountain and area surrounding will be illuminated in a holiday wonderland filled with lights and smaller trees. This year’s design is graciously being provided through the creativity and innovation of the Jefferson County Historical Society.

On Friday, November 29th , Mayor Bob Courtney & Santa Claus will officially recognize the start of
the Christmas season in Madison by officially lighting up the Broadway Fountain and the lights on top of downtown buildings.

The event will start at 6:00PM by the Broadway Fountain. Santa and the Mayor will welcome community members, and they will “flip the switch” to turn on the Christmas lights in Madison. Community members of all ages are invited to help celebrate the beginning of the holiday season! Light Up Madison will also include caroling led by Trinity United Methodist Church and free photos next to Santa’s cottage on Main Street until 8pm.

Prior to “Light Up Madison,” the Madison Public Library will host Santa and members of the public for Christmas caroling and readings at 5:00pm. Light refreshments will be available. Santa will then escort the group from the library to the Christmas tree and Broadway Fountain in time for the start of “Light Up Madison.”

Santa will be available to talk to kids after the event at Santa’s cottage, which will be located again this season in front of the Comfort Station on Main Street. Santa will also make additional trips to Madison in the coming weeks:
