Kindness Matters Mural
MADISON AREA ARTS ALLIANCE PASSES HALFWAY POINT OF MATCHING GRANT GOAL Over $17,100 raised toward program offered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority
Madison, IN – During the month of August, the Madison Area Arts Alliance (MAAA) was able to pass the halfway point in its crowdfunding efforts for the Kindness Mural and The SPOT. Over $17,100 from 78 donors was collected by month’s end toward the goal of $26,500. The organization isparticipating in the CreatINg Places grant program offered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). The campaign launched on August 14, 2020. If the full $26,500 is raised by October 16, 2020, the IHCDA will match each donation dollar for dollar.
The colorful, 180 foot mural, located at the corner of Mulberry & Second streets in downtown Madison, will depict a river theme, highlighting a series of positive words and affirmations with an overall declaration of our community's commitment to inclusiveness and kindness. Additionally, the
project includes the development of THE SPOT (Supporting People of Talent). Just 42 steps from the mural, THE SPOT is a place for our creative community to meet, create, and gather--both reminding people that others care and Kindness Matters in Madison, Indiana.
