    Jamie Gammons

MCHS graduate with Cadet Teaching Classes and Psychology, and Substitute Teacher’s License

As a young adult I taught horse riding at summer camps for many summers. My husband and I are youth ministers at Cross Plains Church. I’ve also taught as a substitute teacher since 2009. In March of 2016 I was offered a position instructing gardening at CCA. Then in December of 2017 I began instructing art and then in January of 2018 I began instructing P. E. as well.

Canaan School has special place in my heart because I attended elementary school here. My mom also attended Canaan and my two oldest children as well. I have lived in Switzerland County since 2009. I am happily married; have two step sons, a daughter with possibly a career in nursing, my oldest is a camp caretaker, and my youngest is in 8th grade.

Growing and creating beauty are important to me whether in a garden setting, outdoors, or on paper. Self expression is a good outlet for emotions;  art and gardening are good vehicles for that outlet. I hope to pass along an appreciation for nature and art to the students at CCA.

The older I get the more I realize the importance of eating healthy and physical fitness. I hope to bring the CCA students to this understanding so they can lead healthy, happy lives.

I feel blessed to be a part of the CCA family. It’s nice to work in a loving and caring environment. I love that I have the opportunity to teach students ways to help their lives, via lessons from creativity in art, nature, and living healthier lives.
