Every year, SBA honors small businesses and their owners during National Small Business Week (NSBW). NSBW awards, such as Small Business Person of the Year and Exporter of the Year are a great honor, and can garner positive media and community attention not only for the winning business, but for the organization nominating and/or supporting the business. From the nominees, we choose winners at the state level, who are then sent on to compete for national level awards. All awardees, receive their awards during National Small Business Week festivities held .
Basic qualifications for the awards are that a business must have been in business for at least three years and utilized SBA services in some way; whether it be a SBA loan or counseling/mentoring with our resource partners such as ISBDC, WBC, BOI, or SCORE. Further criteria are outlined in the attached guidelines.
The deadline to submit businesses/owners for NSBW awards is coming up quickly. Attached are the guidelines, a how-to/tips and tricks, and a checklist. We would love to see some of the great businesses you work with nominated!
